Was he going to kill Emily I know he would have killed Katherine.

Originally, he wanted to be with EMILY and nobody else, and kill anyone who would get in the way. But after EMILY helps DAVID figure out who CHARLIE is, the latter feels betrayed. That's why he wants to kill her too.
