What was in the Cave?

I didnt get the part with the cave. What happened there? I mean not the end scene, can someone please explain this to me? Thx in advance.

Did he abuse her there? How about the dolls lying on the floor inside the cave? Something horrible must have happened there.

yes i get it, but what was in the cave? she clearly has been inside there before, at the start, when the butterfly led her there. its actually creepy that it clearly shows something horible happened without showing anyhting , but the destroyed toys at the end swimming in the dark water... you know?
