Hated the ending (spoilers)

He shouldn't have had to die. Maybe let him barely survive and be put away in a psych prison, or maximum security nut house, but die? It's like his real personality we got to know throughout the film, who was a loving father and wasn't even aware of "Charlie", died needlessly because Charlie was a threat at that moment. And dude only had a knife. She could have shot him in a knee cap and run away with Emily to call the cops. Now both the girl's parents are dead.

I agree and also the daughter also suffers from multiple personality disorder which is sad. Poor girl.

I agree. He obviously wasn't medicated or getting ANY treatment, so there's a good chance that if he did, he'd become well again. Obviously his relationship with his daughter would be a lot different, as he'd be locked up, a criminal. But he'd still have the chance to talk to her and apologize and so forth. That has to be better than Emily losing him completely.

the only problem with the ending (any one of them) is that they were too long, the movie really ended (or the creepy horror) when we knew for sure that the dad is charlie.
