I am glad to see that they are 'rescuing' items from the Goodwill truck

I always was amazed that they would let good pieces of furniture end up on the Goodwill truck after the yard sale, especially when the family did not make enough money for the designer's budget. Especially the one episode where Mark convinced the homeowner to get rid of her sofa that she loved and then he did not have enough money to buy another sofa and just left her with pillows on the floor in his design. He should have been running after that Goodwill truck !! On a recent episode, Mark repurposed the dining furniture that did not sell and it looked fine. I was glad to see him keep it since the furniture had sentimental value.

Actually, she talked him into selling the couch at the yard-sale. He didn't think they'd make enough money, so he was going to re-purpose it. But she wanted "a brand new start." I think when it didn't sell he should have "rescued" it from the truck though, cause he knew he wouldn't be able to get a new couch.

What got me was that they did buy a sofa for the room with the computer so don't know why they didn't just put it in the livingroom instead of the spare room. I think he was trying to teach her a lesson because he told her if they didn't sell it, he may not have enough money to get another one but she insisted on putting it out.

Actually, the red sofa sold. There was a bidding war over it between three interested people. They ended up getting $480 for it, which was a pretty good chunk of the very little cash they made.

He didn't buy a sofa for the office. It was already in that room.
