Gifting for getting rid of things?

They seem to do gifting (new furniture, flooring, or carpeting, etc) quite frequently. Whenever someone does not want to get rid of something or is having a hard time, it seems the host generally will gift them something.

It is great that the host will gift something, particulary after the fact when the homeowner has already said okay with getting rid of something meaningful. However, it seems that if any of the homeowners watch the show a time or two, they will know to be relunctant about getting rid of something because they will likely be bribed with a gift for doing so. And if the bribe is not offered, they can just say no. These gifts should be more sparingly given and not be seen as bribes. IMO, they should only be given after someone has agreed to get rid of something.

That just bothers me.

This scenario plays out EVERY show.
Everyone knows it's coming so it's just a matter of which particular item the family is willing to part with for free "furnture/flooring/seating" etc.
It's just part of being on the show as I think the "gifting" company gets free advertising in exchange.

I always groan when the homeowner clings to some item because it's the start of the gifting negotiations. But in a recent episode, the single, home-alone father was so pliant--everything they asked he agreed readily. I was quite surprised. At the end, Tempestt gave him a surprise reward of new flooring in every room.

I don't understand why so many homeowners who've seen the show and invite them over, knowing that they have to give up precious items and furniture in order to get clean house do their stuff, that they aren't smart enough to move those precious items elsewhere in advance so clean house can't make them sell it.
But then again they're too lazy to pick up a piece of clothing from the floor, why should they even bother moving anything heavier than that...
