the Sharon Baglien 'messiest home in the country' program

I saw this episode for the first time last year, and just couldn't get over how dysfunctional and ungrateful that family was.

Watched the repeat today, and seriously, it's like a wreck you just can't look away from. There are so many things wrong with it that I don't even know where to start.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Its on right now. Im watching it.

Its true that its a "stand out" episode because the people ARE so ungreatful (and Niecey calls them out on it).

When I watched it the other day, I noticed that they actually edited out Sharon's rant at the end of the program (that I remember from the first time I saw this episode). Well, you'll see what I mean.

Im thrilled to get to see this one. JUST started watching the show this week and the people on the message boards talk about "frigid Viking bitch" and "Dragon Lady" so Im REALLY lookin out for those eps!

Okay. Its on. Time to watch. hahaha

How the hell do those clothes from 30 years ago still fit Sharon???? Hmmmm

That's why she and her daughter had so much stuff - at least 95% of it was unused, and they just kept buying more and more to replace whatever they couldn't find (which was everything).

I was actually surprised how Sharon could even afford a house and a nice car - based on her spending habits she should have been bankrupt several times over.

Oh, yeah, the Dragon Lady was a nasty piece of work also, although not quite as bad as the Bagliens, I have to say.

Enjoy the show!

The house was absolutely GORGEOUS when they finished (daughter could even turn basement into a studio apartment at this point) . If I were the crew from the show I would have dragged all their KEEP *beep* back into the house and dumped it all over Sharons bed!

And I guess they DID edit out Sharons rant at the end cuz from what I saw she left and never came back. they didnt have any follow up footage of her eventually seeing the house. She stormed off lookin for Grandmas purse and never came back!

Its bad enough they base the whole show on rewarding messy people...but NASTY UNGREATFUL messy people!

No, she did storm off the show, but she was cursing them out as she was walking toward her car (which was what they edited out). She never did come back in the original episode either.

Although who could possibly want her grandmother's purses is completely beyond my comprehension. It just sounded like such an outlandish accusation to me.

And I am guessing the families have to give their consent for a follow-up visit, and the Bagliens don't strike me as the kind of people who would agree to that.

Oh, and a bit of context: that was a $100k makeover!!!
Their behavior was simply criminal.

What season is this from? Also what is the episode name? Is this the one with mom and daughter living in a basically a hoarders house and the basement was full to the brim?
TIA

reply

Not only the basement, their attic was so full that their living room ceiling cracked.

I don't remember which season this was in, but it was one of the Messiest Home in the Country episodes.
