I enjoyed this movie, but it held several striking similarities to an episode of The X-Files, in which Fox Mulder is trapped in a time loop until he can stop a bank robbery. I was just wondering if I was the only one that noticed this.

Good episode. The difference being that Fox Mulder just keeps reliving the same day over and over.
Exactly, making that episode a x-files version of Groundhog's Day, which ripped off something else that I forget the name of.
