great cinematography
Am I alone in thinking this movie is one of the best-looking films of the series? People always bring up the likes of Skyfall and No Time to Die in regards to the most visually striking Bond movies, but I think this sits comfortably right beside them.
Sure, the lighting may not be as grandiose and there's no awe-inspiring oners here (a technique that's become overused in recent years IMO) but the color saturation is still so rich and gorgeous in every scene, and every shot feels purposeful and meaningful to the story. Whether it be in the big, bombastic action sequences or in the quieter, more suspense-fueled poker scenes, Campbell's shot choices always feel precise and meticulous, with every frame composed to striking perfection. And when the camera does move, it always feels organic and motivated by story and character, rather than to facilitate the need of the director to get noticed (as was the case with the opening in Spectre) while still adding a certain level of dynamism and energy to the film.
Who's with me? I think this is one of the best-looking films of the series, as well as arguably the most well-directed one of the lot.
