Did the mom make them move every time she broke up with a guy or was she just depressed about it and would mope. Why did Hilary's character decide to make up the secret guy; what was the final straw that made her do that?

Everytime she broke up with a guy they moved. She'd get desperate really quickly, as we see with the picture on the dating site, and then they would do something bad so they would move.
And yeah she just had enough of it, as anyone would. I would hate it if my mum did that. So she made up the guy so her mum would be happy so she wouldn't be so desperate to ind a guy that she'll only end up breaking up with and then they wouldn't have to leave.
