Why didn't Amy know her uncle wasn't dating/marrying Amber?

It's quite strange Amy didn't know her Uncle wasn't dating/marrying Amber. Amy disappeared after Hilary's character used her up.

I'm pretty sure she knew, but didn't think that Holly thought they were dating. Or something. That's definitely one of the worst parts of the movie.

Yeah the movie didnt imply Amy didnt know. Holly just assumed, there was poor communication...and yeah her character did just kind of disappear, then Adam's role became more dominant

Though it may be questionable that Amy did not state clearly that Amber was not Ben's fiancée, she did not disappear altogether: she helped Holly in her ploy not to make Ben and Jean meet at his bistro, during Gloria's bridal shower. THEN, she disappeared.

I could tell he was the caterer right away.. This was the biggest hole in the script..
