brooklyn accent

as a long island girl, i have to say i was pretty offended by their interpretation of what a brooklyn accent should sound like. my dad and his siblings were born and raisedin brooklyn and they do not sound like that...they know how to pronounce their 'r's, which is a common misconception of new yorkers. maybe some people sound like that but not the majority, and i thought it was just insulting. well, i mean,. it's not going to ruin my day lol but it was pretty stupid.

i knowww! hahaha the r thing is strictly boston hahaha I'd know... i have lived in boston and manhattan. its ridiculous that the two people in the movie who have the strongest "accent" are from canada... ridiculous.

Also from Long Island and they only thing that bothers me more than phoney Brooklyn accents in movies is phoney Long Island accents. I can always tell when actors are putting it on, no matter how close they come.

I'm a long island girl too(but I was born and spent a few years in Brooklyn). I also hated the accent... It made it trashy. Caroline Rea (who I love as an actress) fake accent was horrible! It was so badly fake! I can understand the accent being its based in Brooklyn but to much is to much! lol

yeaaaa Amy's accent was ridiculous...i only watched bits and pieces of the movie so i didnt get to hear caroline rea's accent, but i can imagine it was just as bad as the other girl's
