I was watching something on VH1 about Hilary and they said that Lizzie McGuire was almost cancelled after the first few episodes b/c the executives were convinced Hilary couldn't act. I mean she was still a young girl, but they had to get an acting coach to come on set all the time, but told her that he was really "There for everyone". I actually think her sister Haylie seems pretty funny. I liked her in Napoleon Dynamite and in the commercials for Material Girls I laugh at most of the things she says.

My biggest problem is the selfish attitude she seems to display in just about every role I've seen her in. Starts out selfish, has a life changing epiphany, and by the end of the movie is a calm and understanding individual. I don't buy it.

In an interview she said that she wouldn't do a role that was very different from what she normally does (paraphrased). So, while I think she could be a good actress with some coaching, I don't quite understand why someone would want to do essentially the same role every time. It's just another reason why I think that Lindsay Lohan, with all of her problems, is a much better actress than Hilary Duff.
