I know Melinda is a lip biter (as am I) but what is wrong with her mouth when she is looking in the mirror in the first scene? What does she rub off? It isn't blood is it? (the shape is held for too long)

Help? Please?

It is eyeliner. She is experimenting with make-up and crying out for help from her mother at the same time.
