there's a movie with camille belle in it. i think it was called 'the quiet'. from the description of this movie, the plot seems exactly the same. i've never seen this one, but 'the quiet' was really dark.

I've seen the 'the quiet' and it is good...But it would of been better without some graphical scenes involving the daughter and father, but it wasn't too bad I just fast forwarded it loll, far too uncomfortable...

the hills have eyes..more of a horror film though lol.
but its kind of hard to eat food after you watch it lol, just letting you know.

dont know if you were being sarcastic or not. BUT, I have seen that film. My mum and cousin are the biggest horror movie fans and watching it with them was more of a nightmare, they luaghed at the most stupidit things even though it was a while ago, I can assure you that that fiml is NOTHING like Speak.
Any suggestions now?

Now these are a lot of movies. Keep in mind that they are all similar to "Speak" but they are not the same. All of them add something else to the coming of age/highschool drama/teen angst topic.
Some have a dramatic tone some are more comedic but they are all very watchable ;-)
Manic, Mysterious Skin, Thirteen. All similar-natured and out around the same time.

shareAdding on to my post ^, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Speak are actually very similar films.
-Both films are based off a popular book.
-Both main characters suffer from sexual abuse.
-They both take place during a freshman's year of high school, and it starts out from the beginning of the school year to the end with some holidays included in the story.
-Both films also trap the perfect vibe of awkwardness and hell of everyone's first year of high school, that everyone can relate to in some way.
-Both characters have no friends on their first day of school.
-Both characters find friendship with one of their teachers.
-Both characters have a decaying relationship with their parents.
The movies also differ tremendously, but I definitely recommend POBAWF if you haven't seen it yet. It will stick with you just like Speak does.
