Kristen Stewart's acting

I seem to be the only one here who thinks Kristen Stewart's acting in this movie was bad. Despite the horrible thing that happened to her character, Stewart managed to make me feel no sympathy. Instead I was frustrated with her, and didn't like her at all. Anytime the camera would stay close up on her face for too long I would get annoyed. I actually don't know how I was able to sit through the movie. I'm not trying to anger Kristen Stewart fans, but I just don't see her as a good actress. And not just this movie but pretty much all of her movies.

Completely disagree. I thought her acting in this was perfect.

I personally think she's a very good actress, especially in this, Panic Room, The Messengers and The Cake Eaters.

Are you serious? Kristen Stewart is amazing in this film. The girl made me cry during this movie.

Maybe for this particular film she was good, but she acts the same in every single movie. In all of her movies she's a mope. Even if the movie dosn't call for her to be a mope she will be a mope. She always has that same bored expression on her face. So even though I said in my original post that her acting was bad in this movie I think I may take that back since she was supposed to be depressed looking in this. I think I just got tired of seeing the same stupid facial expression(or lack thereof) in all of her films.

Speak, Panic Room, and The Messengers are my favorite movies of hers. :) You've got good taste.

reply

Yeah I agree. She does a better job than I could probably do (I'm not saying "Oh man she's horrible and has no talent auuuuugh") but it seems like all the movies I have seen her in she is the same (or a very similar) character.

I have to say that scowl gets old fast. Obviously the "Twilight" brigade is heavy on these boards, but I was not overly impressed with Kristen here. She was good in "The Cake Eaters" though.

Eh, i don't know, she just seems to play extremely similar characters. I want to see her do something very different.

I thought Kristen was good for this role, but I understand your point about her ALWAYS being the same, dull character. She's like a person who is unenthused and bored with life- which is why she was perfect for the role of Melinda, but I couldn't stand her in "Twilight" (Well, I generally didn't like Twilight altogether- but Kristen didn't help). Yeah I wish she would bloom out and actually do something different, but some actors just always play the SAME role, which makes them boring to watch after a while.

She's a decent actress who maybe is been touted by her die hard fans a bit too much of heading to greatness. she's very good in this role even though i taught the film was a bit Tv movie of the week but she made it a bit more interesting. I would like her to try something a little more out there like Eva Green in the Dreamers or Smamatha morton type of film something that might push her a little.
She's just playing it a bit too easy right now

I'm not a big KS fan...but I think her beautiful, subdued performance in this movie was wonderful. I normally would not have watched this type of movie...but I caught the beginning by accident and was hooked.

I think for the most part, she did well. Her facial expressions were sad, she was depressed, her eyes were very expressive, even without speaking she did manage to convey depression, and she actually physically flinched every time she was near Andy, she may not be able to deliver the lines (I thought the confrontation with Heather was just painful) but she was excellent body language in this movie. The rape scene was very well done, the way she was trying to hit him or just make him stop, and when she sees Andy in the closet and she just jumps, I think she did an excellent job.

Having said that, I just saw this, and I've seen the Twilight movies, and I have to say... it's the exact same person! I kept expecting to see Edward Cullen come into Biology at some point. Her interactions with Heather were pretty much the same interactions she had with Jessica in the Twilight movies. I think she was very well suited for this role, she played it very well. But for some reason, she plays the same role in almost every other movie I've seen with her in the cast.

But then again, I haven't seen Adventureland, The Cake Eaters, or The Runaways... so I may not be entirely correct.

That was longer than a heartbeat!

i agree but i think she is suited these types of films the ones with deep messages, thats why she has been so good in this one and cake eaters because its the sort of movies she should be doing

R-Patz-"Good Banter" Z-Efron-"Indeed...Vampire weirdo" R-Patz-"Happy face cheerleader"
