Blindness can sometimes be temporary. I have been temporarily blind from accidentally getting hot pepper juice in my eye. Those chemicals might have been more toxic than hot pepper juice. It just saddens me to think of someone so young being blinded permanently.
Has anyone read the book this movie is based on? In the book is he permanently blinded?
Actually, in the book, she doesn't throw chemicals in his eyes. He tries to rape her again and she puts glass to his throat or something and says "I said no!" Then the door opens.
shareThey probably did that to show that he took her voice away so she took his eyes. A rapist's eyes are used as a weapon to scout their next victim and she took that away from him. Now it'll be pretty hard for him to rape someone again if he can't see.
