Does anyone know why this movie is called deadbirds?
I saw this movie and it had nothing to do with birds.
If it did, then someone tell me what and why.

Two reasons.
1) The demons look somewhat like newly hatched birds.
2) At one point in the film someone comments that there are dead birds around the house. This is said to mean that death will visit a house (or already has in this case).
A common superstition is that the death of a bird somewhere close to a persons house fortells the death of a family member.
This is based on an ancient belief in some cultures that birds are the messengers of departed souls that return to guide those soon to die.
Make of this what you will....!!!
"Sure, just cut them up like regular chickens."

Imbecil title for a cretin movie.

You're an idiot

not such an idiot anymore.
On the commentary the director said he wanted a shot with numerous dead birds but, with such a small budget and short production it didn't work out (either the shot didn't work or never happened). He said it didn't matter, though, if it was a shot of one dead bird or many because really the title is an allegory for them - the people staying there. Sort of like it you called a movie "Sitting Ducks" but saw no ducks in it - you might then apply it to the people who kept getting picked off throughout the movie rather than wonder where all the ducks are.
When my friend asked me if I wanted to see 'dead birds' with him, i thought "no, it's a dumb title." But i did watch it, and it was extremly good. If you go in thinking it will be dumb, cuase of the title, you will be surprised at how good it was. If you go in thinking it will be really good (good title), it will be disapointing becuase it won't or will barely meet your expectations.
I don't think that's what they where trying to do here, but it worked pretty well.
oh...well, for some reason i thought it was sort of a play on words...considering they were "jailbirds" for evading the law and stuff...now they will be "dead"birds....i dont know. i was just thinking why the movie would be called deadbirds...other than the dead bird that guy stepped on. i thought it was a good reason for it being called deadbirds
shareYes, I know why - it's an allegory for William's gang - "dstancey" got it right in her post above. I'll quote her for you:

There you go.
