My thoughts (you know you're interested!) and 1 Q?

I'll start with my question -- what happened to the demon kids, as in how did their father dispose of them? I'm not dumb, but I had my eyes covered ;) The demon mom was stuck in the hayloft, correct?

Now my thoughts:
I'm surprised that people had so many problems understanding this movie. I "watched" it by peeping through my fingers (I'm a scaredy cat!) and I still think I got most of it. The skinned monster thing running through the cornfield at the start was another person-cum-demon, and the characters weren't that scared because a) it does look like a skinned animal, b) it's dead and they have gold to hide, so who cares, and c) they fought in the civil war -- who knows was horrible gross things they saw on the battlefield.

Inside the house things are creepy and end up creepier.
*Joseph is pulled into the well (see question above -- was the little demon boy dumped in the well?) and Joseph as a person ceases to be; Clyde either sees his demon form or, as Todd goes on about, you just can't trust your eyes and Clyde is seeing an apparition.
*Clyde is taken by the demon girl and turned into her doll, which -- to me-- looks like it was an ordinary doll turned into a voodoo doll.
*Sam, weakened through blood loss, becomes possessed, and then dies, becomes a demon, and polishes off Todd.
*Todd, to me, is the bravest and smartest of all the characters. Yes, he saw the footprints turn into pawprints and didn't run away, but he was a smart cookie -- he knew voodoo, knew stuff wasn't right in the house, and turned down the gold to run away, which has pretty big significance since he was a black man, in the south, during the civil war -- he could have quite easily been caught and returned to slavery.
*Annabelle is shot.
*William runs out the cornfield and -- surprise -- he's become one of the demons of the house. Oh wait, how could he not know that he had turned into a demon? Well Bruce Willis didn't even know he was dead and he was frickin dealing with a kid who saw dead people.

So what happened to the gold? Three theories:
A. The demon ghosts just hid it and/or made it invisible. Then they just had a few near William's demon body near the end to lure in the other guys.
B. William took it. He was all hell bent on it not being split up until they reached Mexico, but yet he had some on him at the end (i.e. by his demon body)
C. Combo of the two -- The demon part of William stole/hid it, but the man part of William didn't know. William as a man was afraid he shot a little boy and was determined that the gold not be split up. William turning into a demon didn't even care that his brother died and was willing to kill Todd (i.e. the ONE person who couldn't be turned into a demon) over it. Yes, I know he was shouting "Where's the gold??" but I see this as a split personality thing. (which brings about the side note, maybe the Joseph-cum-demon killed the horses?)

Thoughts? If you actually read all of this, bravo!

The black man gives it all away..."I can't trust my eyes". Likely they were all being deceived and nothing they saw was actually happening.

Right at the beginning two of them were plotting murder and betrayal

1)I think Joseph was hallucinating, fell in the well. They arent going to find him hes in a dark well

2)Sam appears dead(now he's possessed by the evil spirits)

3)Todd was possessed and was missing he strung up Clyde(with demons doing posession he probably doesnt remember doing it)

4)Sam kills Todd(now waiting at the plantation for the next round of victims)

5)William obviously is scared and kills Annabelle(in the dark and with panic not hard to see how) by the light of day he is in shock.

6)he is fightened by the "dog" which may or may not exist

7)he is killed by the next round of victims who again see a "creature" likely just him but with the black magic he appears as a creature.

What I am showing is how evil spirits would work through people because if you think about it they are disembodied demons, everything was either a vision or the actual people doing it. Re-watch the movie and youll see thats how it likely went down.

There is no doubt evil waiting in the house but the fact is its a cycle that keeps repeating for new customers. The curse is working on fear and it seems everyone died due to fear.

Oh and as for the horses they may or may not be dead, it may have just looked like they were gone.
