CREEPY! and, similar to Scarecrows (1988)

I'm not criticizing this movie. It sounds like it drew upon many influences, and hey, it scared the heck out of me. That's what counts.

I'm just saying, one of it's influences was probably Scarecrows. That is a movie about a bunch of deserting soldiers in the 1980s, who steal a lot of money, and are forced to hide out for the night in an abandoned old farmhouse in the middle of cornfields. We see the previous occupants of the house in their old photographs. They had been into some really freaky demonic things, and... carnage ensues.

It is also comparable to Dead Birds, (in my opinion), in terms of it's sheer creepiness. The scarecrows really give me the willies, and I thought the scenes with the soldiers running through the cornfields, trying to communicate by their little radio headsets, was very creepy. Sometimes they would confuse the voices from the headsets with the voices of the scarecrows, which may or may not have been all in the minds of the soldiers... very very creepy.
