Gooseberry Bush

Ok so I just watched an episode called gooseberry bush. Ok I LOVE this show but there was a lot of unanswered questions in this one. Like why did the maid lady hide her baby? Why didn't they confront those teenagers for stealing the face cream and where were they planing to go? I was just wondering they usually don't leave a lot of unanswered question on this show and Like why didn't they go to the cops in the first place when they found the baby and Why on earth was Laura carrying that gun in her pocket like it was nothing I mean being that she was a cop she should know better. Well just wondering and I'm sure I'm reading more into the show than i should.

LOL!!! No you aren't reading too much into it! I have all three seasons on DVD and
my daughter & I enjoy watching them during the week. Anyhow, I watched the Aribaca episode tonight and Laura was just down on Rosemary for not showing the detective on that show the 'toggle' or button, of course she changed her mind after the detective was being rude & implying they were gay. However...with that in mind it really does seem odd that she would be so 'air headed' about many things in the Gooseberry Episode.

I too couldn't figure out why the lady left her babe in the woods, unless the baby's father was suppose to pick him up there...but he got too busy fondling the woman in the bushes. As for the teens...I believe they were somewhat confronted, but it wasn't looked on as that big of a deal compared to all the other situations going on.

AS for the baby not being reported to the police...that boggled my mind too. They did tell the owner's of the home's sister and I believe the maid was right there when R&T told her. And the gun Laura kept was odd too.

I found this episode to be full of questions myself! You were not alone ~ Cheers!

(((( Perhaps they had been drinking TOO much wine ))))

ADDED NOTE: I just was on the R&T website and was reading the "behind the scenes" on this episode...this could explain some of the oddities...

Pam Ferris plays Laura Thyme

"My husband and I were chatting ages ago and we thought it might be fun if, instead of a body, Rosemary and Thyme found a baby. We wrote a story and suggested it to the producer Brian Eastman. He thought it was an interesting idea and asked us to develop it. So we do in fact find a baby."

"It was an interesting piece of shooting for Felicity and I. She’s got children and I haven’t, but the characters are the other way around. I’m the one with child

So many questions...so little time.

Well, this was simply a poorly written episode, apparently, no proof readers. Your comments are spot on.

But if you can get around the stupid baby stuff (injected by Pam Ferris and her husband who have no children; and the improbability of the scenes show it!), the theme of a woman getting vengeance on her ex husband and his mother, is Great!

The problem with this episode keeps getting back to actions surrounding the baby; I guess you have to have been there to know what mothers would never do.
