millie stabbing the slug- was there a hidden message in that?

Dunno, her innocence being lost maybe? I thought it was cruel :-/

I assumed she stabbed it because she saw a slug crawling on the dead kids face, as if it was taking advantage of the fact he was dead.

I felt like Millie killed the snail because she was grappling with her identity. She had just played a hand in killing another person, and in stabbing a harmless snail, she's testing herself, essentially asking "Is this the person I am now? Am I a killer?".

Probably to show how quickly and unexpectedly life can be lost. The snail is a metaphor for George.
