Ok this could be a fake fake show. Chase's mark

So the third episode this season Chase got a nasty cut. I noticed beginning of the episode he did have the cut when Skyler was talking about her crush on LV. During his "confessional" he didn't have the scar. Then before the immunity challenge he didn't have it either. The challenge is when the cut happened.

When he came back from the hospital and talked to the Asian he DIDN'T have the scar. Randy said "he randomly asked her about her medical school, i think its because he just came back from the hospital!" but when he's asking her, he doesn't have the scar!!!

I said to my friend "what if this season it's WE ARE the Joe Schmo's and fell for this whole season. That happened too much this episode.

I'm having the same questions, but I think this is more a case of editing. I mean, if they're really trying to fake us out, that's a pretty obvious continuity flaw to leave in. More likely that, like every reality show, what we're seeing is a bunch of clips from throughout the shoot, cobbled together to fit the dramatic arc. It might not make sense for his interview to have no scar, and the thing he was being interviewed about to show the scar, but that could simply be because what he's being interviewed about isn't what we saw, but another, less interesting interaction from earlier in the day that the editors left out. Shows like this still have to tell a story, and they have to do so in the most efficient way possible, sometimes this requires toying around with timelines.

Some reality shows don't necessarily show the events in chronological order. The conversation between Chase & the "doctor" may have actually happened several days after his incident, or it could've been the very first thing that happened when they first arrived. Just because they present it as if it happened immediately after him returning from the hospital doesn't mean that's when it actually occured.

That would of course mean that Randy's comments during his interview were untrue or mistaken, which I believe is probably what happened here.

Also remember that those interviews take place after the fact. Some of them are filmed as they go along, but some of them could've been filmed weeks after the show finished.

Yep, you see this in reality tv all the time. I watch MTV's challenges and sometimes during a discussion you will see a person in the background that had already been eliminated in the show. They place scenes in the edit to fit the narrative. If something happened on day 2 that would fit really well with the events of day 7, they will throw it in to make you think it all happened around the same time.

Like when Chase and the girl were talking about LV and we kept seeing Chase stare out and they showed LV flying that kite, he probably wasn't even out there flying the kite at that time. He might not have even been out there, Chase could have been looking at anything but making him look at LV while they are talking about him fits the narrative better.

yeah this was a continuity thing, i caught it too, i dont think its part of a grand scheme....they do all kinds of tricks like that, especially at the final elimination they tape tons of stuff to have editing room. (ps....they managed to get in "my beaver is peeing"....in the last one. pretty brilliant)

More to that point, they show LV flying the kite in his casual pouch when Skylar, Chloe and Chase are talking. But then Chase goes up to him and LV is wearing shorts and a tshirt. So they simply spliced in the casual pouch kit flying shot for effect.

I'm not sure what was up with Chase, but he had terrible acne near the spot he was bleeding from.

Makeup. They probably covered up much of the scar later on in the day with makeup.

do you not see that the interviews are done on different days. Are you not able to talk about something that happened the week before. Jeez people You can see his outfit and hair are different. Monday it happened the Tues he was interviewed about it then maybe on sat they asked him about it again.

It's just editing, it makes it very difficult to edit and manufacture drama or comedy when he has such a visual scar. I don't think they care really because the editing has been kind weird at multiple times already as evidenced by that whole bust scene where they go out in the van and chases scar is very close to healed and 2 members are missing.
