It's funny that one of the producers said that during the scene where Carly is singing to everyone including the inmates, because it turns out that screwup moments like that are some of the best parts of the show.
Honestly, I do understand why he would be upset since a meltdown like that could end the show if it prompted Chase to question the world around him more. But it's like how SNL skits where the people lose it in the middle and start laughing at each other are really the funniest skits. And it's magnified in this scenario because of the premise of the show.
