Chase was not a good pick

He's a great guy and I'd be happy to have a friend like him, but he just doesn't have "it" the way Matt, Tim, Amanda and to a lesser extent Ingrid had. Matt is the best example. They could make an entertaining show just filming him have a casual conversation about anything with the cast.

Chase was just a bad pick because he's too savvy, and it's not like they didn't have the warning signs. He has his own business, he holds a Masters degree, these are things that could've been vetted out. Yes, there are plenty of smart people out there who can also be blissfully unaware, but why not play the odds?

You're definitely right about that. If they had to go with Chase, they should have avoided a lot of the more ridiculous things they try to put over on him.

Let's not give him too much credit. The first day they blew up a supposed fake bag of dynamite, made up some ridiculous excuse that they "mixed one bag in with the others" and dummy still puts it on first. Any halfway intelligent person would have quit on the spot.

He may be different from Matt, or Joe or Amanda, but I've kind of been enjoying how competitive he is. He really wants to be a bounty hunter.

He was a great pick, but the producers really dropped the ball by focusing on the actors more than the Schmo.

By episode 7 I didn't really care of Chase won or not because, outside of having a wife and coming from Pittsburgh... I didn't know a thing about who Chase really was.

To their credit, the finale was strong and the producers deserve a pat on the back for that... but they really screwed up by trying to embarass Chase during the middle of the show, as opposed to letting things develop more organically and in a more believable manner while focusing on who Chase really was.

The show could have done everything they did, but rather than airing things out of sequence to build suspense... they could have just let things build naturally and spent more time delving into Chase's backstory.

I thought he seemed like a genuinely nice guy which is strange to see most of the time, but what I really didn't like is that the show gave him way too much power. They knew he was a smart guy and they tried to alleviate that by giving him control over things in order to make it seem less staged.

I thought that was a big mistake because it often came back to bite them in the ass. The whole Randy getting booted thing for instance.. and then when Lorenzo came back and was supposed to win, Chase won. He was way too competitive and he allowed very little room for error for the crew. They should have kept him out of control until about the middle of the show.

I didn't like how he came into the house, got the master bedroom, got his little crew together and booted out his number 1 pick (Lorenzo) right away. Like I said, too much control handed over right there. They seemed to always be a step behind Chase and trying to pick up the pieces when he would ruin whatever they had planned.

Next time I feel like they should plan things out a little better and make the contestant play their game, instead of the other way around.

With this show, it's less about personality and more about being trusting and enthusiastic about the topic of the show to the point that you'll ignore the inner voice that's telling you it's all ridiculous.
