Storm was the only one who could logically stop Jean.

Storm could just call for a lightning strike on her from a distance and be done with it. Although Jean could probably divert or deflect the lightning, but it still makes more sense then Wolverine walking up to her in one piece. Jean could've just instantly burst Wolverine into dust instead of taking him by tiny chucks at at time.

But of course they want to do it the hard way for the dramatic insta-heal effect. And Wolverine always has to be the hero. I hope there will be less Wolverine in the upcoming movie. There has been wayyy too much Wolverine in this movie franchise.

Wolverine won't even be in X-Men: Apocalypse at all. And way too much Wolverine? Wolverine was always the main character in the comics, so...

Well, not really. He was uncredited and it was really kept on the down-low until after the film's release. He was in the movie, but he was just a cameo. It was an awesome cameo though.

Yeah, it was so on the down-low that there were only dozens of articles about him going to and being in Montreal to film during late 2015 reshoots.

June 22, 2015:

Wolverine will appear in the follow-up to Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, according to a custom leather goods company that has created an intriguing backpack for the superhero.

Brooklyn-based Kika NY posted the designs for the attire on Instagram, while also confirming that Jackman will be coming back as Wolverine.

Jackman had previously not officially revealed his involvement in the next X-Men film, but fans were expecting a comeback following the events in Days of Future Past.

Actually, Wolverine was the logical choice because Jean would battle the Phoenix to allow Wolverine to get close. You just didn`t get the movie, did you?

I so agree. Wolverine is the most overrated in the X-Men movies. The film makers need to give other mutants a chance to shine and have their origin story told, like Storm for example.

I think Apocalypse is going to be an origin story for Jean,Scott,and Storm.

If by "overrated" you mean the only one that was actually interesting then I agree.

There is a reason why they focused upon Wolverine - the same reason why he had his on comic and even a comic based in the future. He's interesting. The rest aren't all that interesting.

Do we really need to see Storm growing up a thief? Do we need to see more teen angst from Iceman and Rogue?

Don't get me wrong, I'll be quite happy to see a well written story for all of the characters. I'm just saying Logan, being a 'time traveler' is really the only interesting character they had for the first three movies.

there were a lot of interesting themes they could explore.

I think storm's background is very interesting. she has this claustrophobia issue back all the way since she was young, when the mines she was in started caving in and things like that, back in Africa.

But how interesting would that be for a whole movie? More importantly, when has that been any kind of issue in any of the movies. I barely remember her issue with that and I read more X-Men than anything else.

As I said, there is a reason why Wolverine has had a few different runs of comic books and the others haven't - other than in a limited run.

What about Leech? If you've got a being that is the manifestation of pure power, wouldn't it makes sense to have a character that instantly makes that power null be the one to stop her?

But it's like you said, gotta get Wolverine in there somewhere.

even with Marsden's lack of availability for filming it wouldn't have been too hard to fit in the time to film Marsden for that scene, either.

Just because they could get him (or work around his schedule) for a lake and mansion scene doesn't mean they could get him when they needed to film the scene you are referring to. They had permits to be at the location they were at for fixed dates and they had to plan what set pieces they needed to transport there well in advance and plan for when it all needed be removed. And the dates that they picked best served their budgetary and practical constraints. For example, if you schedule it earlier you might not have a set as the film schedule accounts for time needed for set builders to complete particular sets. So if Marsden was not available on the days they scheduled that for then it likely wouldn't have been feasible to change things to accommodate him.

I agree. Wolverine gets the spotlight way too much in the trilogy and how come there couldn't be an X-Men Origins with Storm or Professor X, or Cyclops?
