THIS SHOULD BE A MOVIE ABOUT KUBRICK HIMSELF

I think this movie might be a bad idea. They should just do a movie version of Kubrick's life instead of an imposter. That would be very cool.

Ok, well that would be a totally different movie, not this one.

To make a great Biopic, in my opinion, you have to have a great life story. Although, undoubtedly, film today owes much to Kubrick, I'm not sure whether he had a very "intersting" life. He was primarily a recluse and occasionally came out of his shell to direct movies, but do you really want to see Kubrick in his house half the time and then see him on set for the other half? I don't know... since I haven't read any biographies on him, I don't know whether I am able to express this opinion, but I've heard many stories about his reclusiveness. Although he probably had the time of his life by himself, I'm sure the audience won't appreciate a 2 hour long Biopic of Kubrick reading...

Plus, if Kubrick were alive, he would hate it because it would give him more exposure. Maybe a documentary would suit Kubrick better...

Well, he was not a recluse for the first half of his life. A film which concentrated on the young Kubrick might be very interesting.

I think first things first would be an insightful, comprehensive, unauthorized biography.

Now that's a great one.

I was thinking the same. Kubrick was much bigger lunatic than this guy. They should make a movie about Kubrick when he shot "2001: Space Odyseey"

Or they could go the "Shadow of the Vampire" route and make a fictionalized version of the shooting of a movie. Sort of like, for example, a real ghost haunting the set of The Shining, but Kubrick wanting to surge ahead with filming regardless. And that would explain why Duvall went crazy.

I think Matthew Modine's book Full Metal Jacket Diary about his experience of the FMJ shoot could be adapted into a movie. He makes it into a cinematic narrative and his personality as well as Kubrick's come across vividly. R. Lee Ermey could still play himself.
