wasnt gonna get 10 seasons, but why just 2!!!!

this show wasnt like friends, it was different and funny. now i knew it wasnt gonna last as long as friends but i expected 4-6 seasons! i mean Nbc would really kill for this show now. they didnt even get a chance to play the friends card!!?? if joey would have got a 3rd season they could have had the cast of friends on like 2 episodes, then the ratings would have gotten a little better. they should have given it atleast one more season......

Because they wanted immediate high ratings and didn't give it a chance. Just think, if they did that with Seinfeld we would have been deprived of one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. I would have liked at least one more season so they could write a proper ending.

I really liked it, was one of the better sitcoms on the TV, if only it got a few more seasons!

I agree completely. Also, as a huge TV fan, I was offended by the fact that they shoved the last few episodes in a "death slot" against American Idol. The other people in my house outvoted me, and Idol was what got watched (of course, I wasn't in the room).

People who expect instant record breakers are bound to be disappointed with every truly great series, with a few notable exceptions. I liked the new style of Joey, as well as the development of other characters and the dynamic between Joey/Gina/Michael. Weakest link: Zack. Jennifer Coolidge was hilarious.

Also, the way Entertainment Weekly absolutely savaged this show really made me stop reading them.

An interesting idea: what about a cameo by Janice? Opinions?

Sickness will surely take the mime where mimes can't usually go.

Janice would have been pretty funny to see interacting with the new characters, especially Gina. I never thought about other minor characters from Friends coming on. That could have pumped the ratings a bit and wouldn't have costed NBC anything. I also agree that Jennifer Coolidge was absolutely hilarious. Definitely that best part of Joey, other than Joey of course.

Jean Grey could have lived to become a god, but it was more important to her she die... a human.

They should have included some cameos from Friends characters, especially since Joey had such a hard time adjusting to all the changes in season 10. Maybe a few phone calls with Chandler etc.

Look at Scrubs: Med School! Bill Lawrence made the right decision by slowly writing JD off the show.

I think ultimately, every character either got laid on a daily basis or never got laid. Also, the Joey/Alex back and forth thing every two episodes in season 2 was really annoying. Ultimately, it wasn't Friends, it had abrely any references, didn't have a cameo from anyone, but it was difficult since he was in LA and the others in NYC. Personally, they needed better characters, the Joey/Alex card was played WAY too early, and they had recycled the same storyline off Friends, the minute Joey might fall for a girl, and I mean, remember her name for more then half an episode, she gets a better job offer somewhere else

Kate Miller end of Friends Season 3
Susan Sarandon's character Season 7 Episode 14 The One with Joey's New Brain
Sara end of Joey season 1

THey probably should've had Zach as a main character at the start, and made Bobbi a secondary character, rather then a lead character.

you know what else they did that pissed off, was that they put the show on tuesday's at 8:30 why not 9:00 where it at least has a shot to live. the second it hit 8:30 it was dead. i really do miss this show.

What I believe what did the show in, was the writing of the episodes of season #2, people tuned in, and they found that they didn't like the episodes that they had for season #2, and so they stopped watching, and brought the ratings down. And it would have hard to say, if NBC had renewed it for a 3rd season, what that would have been like. And you see this show, being mentioned for one of the worst TV spinoffs. Otherwise, if it did have a good 2nd season, surely it would have been re-newed for 3rd season.
