Why can't Gordon get headcrab'd?

Yeah, I understand for the game's sake, being headcrab'd upon contact with one would be a bit unfair. But in reality, why can't any headcrab latch onto his head? I mean, they jump pretty high when attacking, so its not a problem of reach...

Is his suit designed to repel headcrabs or something? Or is it just something they've ignored? I've always been confused.

reply

You got it - it's the suit.

reply

His hazard suit protects him.
Also, we never see Gordon's face in game, its possible to presume that there is a helmet on the hazard suit that covers his face as well

TOO MUCH HAIR!! CANNOT SEE!! CANNOT SEEEEE!!!

reply

No. If you look at the cover of Half Life 2, its clear that his face is visible and there's no helmet. If you look at the suit in both Half Life 1 and 2, you can see that there is no helmet present. Never has been.

reply

Yeah well maybe it's a hood that we don't see cause he's not wearing it. But there's no way you can be around radiation and not be affected with skin showing, right? Anyway, why don't resistance members wear more helmets? Duh?

reply

Because he's Gordon freaking Freeman.

Name's Ash...Housewares.

Thank God those headcrabs can't facegrab him, I remember playing BLOOD 2 and constantly getting scared sh!tless when those sewer parasites lunged at me and covered the entire screen (simulation of them being "in your face").
I don't mean to impose, but I am the Ocean.

The severed hands in BLOOD(1) were impossible to shake, too. Pissed me off.
