i personally didnt think it was good enough to go theatrical but i definalty thought it would of went STRAIGHT TO DVD. pretty crappy movie

I saw it at Hoyts this evening. The opening is massively promising, and direction is conceptually strong. I think this is 70% a strong film (well, 66.6 repeater percent... yknow, two thirds ;)) - I think the final act and its explanations are a big letdown. This is kind of typical for thrillers, it's always hard to end them satisfactorily.

A lot of Captivity is better, tenser and more mysterious (and no preachy voiceover lessons) than most Saw films. Some good gore and high sickness quotient. I'd say definitely worth checking out, even if it doesn't end strong.

Re: cut or not. Well, I dunno, I never heard anything about the alleged cuts I saw mentioned in this thread before. But I do feel this is a good movie to see in a cinema.

i saw this movie ages ago and it shouldnt of came to cinemas here, i mean Vacancy went direct to dvd so this should of went direct to dvd also.
