Beyond the homosexual sex (which, in a formerly children's cartoon, feels horribly like child molestation), the new show also seems to have lost the original character of Stimpy. Where before he was a childlike innocent, he now appears as a whiny, self-absorbed drama queen. In the original cartoons, his sweet persona was a necessary counterbalance to Ren's hatefulness. Remove that sweetness, and you pretty much end up with unadulterated hatefulness and viciousness. Which is essentially what you have in the second episode.
Isn't it interesting, too, that most of us (myself included, I suppose) find the sex in the first episode so much more distatsteful than we do the animal abuse and mutilation and murder of the second episode?
