Cartoonists are some MESSED UP characters

I should know...I'm a cartoonist myself, so was my grandfather. It really takes a twisted imagination (and I think a fair amount of mental abuse as a child) to crank out the kind of cartoonists who worked on this show. We all know John K was an unbearable psychotic tyrant, but I was just recently looking up some stuff by Bob Camp & Vincent Waller, because you still see their names around on cartoons today, and I happened upon Bob Camp's blog:

LOL...I love "Uncle Stinkbug"...but man look at that stuff, it's really messed up. "Bipolar Bird?!" LOL. Plus if you look up pics of all the artists who worked on Ren & Stimpy, they actually all have a certain kind of look about them.

It seems like these guys may be a dying breed...the grumpy, world-hating misfit cartoonist seems to be being replaced with more upbeat artists (except Jhonen Vasquez maybe). The old school cartoonist with long scraggly hair, unkempt facial hair & black circles under the eyes, greasy with sweat, slaving away at their art desk cranking out cels, seems like an endangered creature, and it'd actually be sad if they went entirely extinct...we need twisted people to show us the dark side of life sometimes.
