No question about it. I was actually really excited to hear it was coming back when it first aired. But once I watched it, I cringed. It wasn't the show I grew up with. I was disappointed.

The show as ALWAYS like that! And it was on Nickelodeon the network what gave you Jamie Lynn Spears!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe she will join the Spumco zoo.

Dude... this IS how Ren and Stimpy was supposed to be. Unfortunatley, the had it on Nickelodeon. And you realized... they outed John K. and the show started to really suck.

Nickelodeon has a habbit of taking good twisted cartoons and ruining them. They did the same thing to Invader Zim.

Nick placed a lot of restrictions (some of which were probably unfair) but it forced Spumco gto be more creative and the result was more entertaining. And had more widespread appeal. The newer ones are just too dirty. Some good stuff definately, but too much filth.

Ironic isn't it? Ren And Stimpy was only as successful as it was because the material was edited and toned down. If it had been like Adult Party it never would of lasted more than 2 seasons.

I only saw three episodes. The pilot was more gross than funny. Other one was FIRE DOGS 2, basically just the fat guy crapping his his toilet, and the messed up one about Ren seeing help over his anger.

Not as good as the original series, but I'd still like to see the other episodes. I haven't even seen any of the original show after Season 3 honestly. I just bought the box sets with episodes I remember from my childhood.

It already been said before but I agree, the original show was successful because it was edited.

The only two GREAT R&S cartoons from the new series was the Episode about Ren as a Kid and the Sequel to Space Madness

I thought the new shows made it even better than it was before, WAY better. It wa grittier, sexier, and most importantly FUNNIER. Loved Naked Beach Frenzy, and the episode with Ren seeking anger management I mean come on! "Psychologist!? Are you blind!? I'm a HOOORRRRSE!"

I think APC is bashed way too much. The animation and designs are AMAZING; better than anything else done about R&S.

What sucked about the revival is that the episodes were TOO DAMN LONG. None of them needed to last more than 11 minutes, much less two-parters!

Exactly! Every episode portrays numerous of facial expressions that no other show really does. I laughed my ass off when the fat-nasty lady gave Ren mouth-to-mouth, in the firemen episode. The close-up on her face, and seeing Ren's reation was humorous. But, the funniest episode was definitely Ren visiting the psychiatrist.

My least favorite was probably the second fireman episode, but even that one wasn't even that bad. I think people are suffering from nostalgia, because I think this show was funnier than ever. I'm glad to hear that the show was intended to be like this, because it can definitely compete with South Park.

The animation is really sloppy in places actually, and horribly inconsistent, I have seen backgrounds change on screen, there are also scenes with unfinished backgrounds.

No, of course it didn't ruin the original kids show! To me, this version of the show was as good, if not better than the original! Plus it's not that bad compared to some adult cartoons you get out there today, let's not forget that Spike TV requested John K. to put in the adult themes and it was a one-shot chance of a Ren and Stimpy revival!(I'd love to see another, who knows?!)

And yes, John also hated the timing, it was Spike TV that again requested that!
