I'm baffled...
By the fact that brilliantly executed movies like this one go largely unnoticed while tripe like The Tree of Life gets Palme d'Or and hordes of militant fans. Truly sad.

shareI agree with every bone in my body with the first part of what you said; I own the brilliant script for this and even got the amazing opportunity to have it signed by its brilliant writer, David Benioff (creator and writer on "Game of Thrones".) It is my favorite script of the last decade. And it deserved to be seen, analyzed, and appreciated. But it had the misfortune of being made in a time and country that doesn't value introspective, complicated films like it.
I disagree on the Tree of Life part; I thought that, too, was a thoughtful, complicated, not easily explained or summed up film that can take many different interpretations.
