I honestly don't know why the two are compared. I watched Gone last night, then visited the IMDb board like I always do after watching a movie and noticed someone mentioned the movie Stay. I never heard of it, but found it, and watched it tonight. I'm glad they mentioned it and this was a very good movie. Great visuals and most of all, lots of "hidden" symbols in every scene.

Gone was a good "thriller" movie, but had a lot of suspension of disbelief. IMHO, watching Stay, I could tell from the "hidden symbols" what I was in for, besides the fact that I watched the trailer first and it pretty much tells you what type of a ride you're in for (but it doesn't give you the experience of the ride). My vote is for Stay. It's a very surreal movie and has one of those twisty ends like The Sixth Sense.

Stay and Gone aren't comparable AT ALL.

Stay is a mental thrill-ride, like a combination of a dream and a nightmare full of subtile messages and actually takes a lot of thinking to understand.

Gone is a cheesy chick fighting movie. You could watch it on mute and understand everything.

They aren't even in the same ballpark. It's like comparing Eternal Sunshine of s Spotless Mind to Enough (the movie where J-Lo learns to fight back). One has an immense amount of depth, the other has a chick fighting.

I actually really liked "Gone" and prefer it to Stay which I just watched last night.

Stay is very surreal but parts of it disapointed me. I liked gone because it had atmosphere and an interesting plot. I persoanlly do not feel either one is that original but both are enjoyable films although Stay left me let down way more then gone.

I havn't seen gone, but i have rated stay as a 10 on 10. And I have given a 10 rating only 4-5 times out of 500 times.

Be prepared for heavy viewing if you see Stay. I had to see it twice to understand it, then i watched a few scenes again and again, because they were better when you watch the movie after you know the story.
