two new guys in Season 6

I know Rob Garant said the two new additions in Season 6 made the show funnier (by the way, Garcia, Clemmy and Kimball were fired from the show, not left voluntarily). Is there anyone, anywhere out there, who agrees? I don't know if Garant was just being goofy when he said that, but there's not a single person on earth who thinks Season 6 was the best. Sometimes, you just gotta admit when you're wrong, Tom and Rob. Any future 911 revisions or comebacks need the original cast.

I thought it was better with Clemmie. I don't miss Junior that much, but he was better than than two new guys. TV shows can't just dump longtime characters and have their producers expect the same loyalty. Especially when they did it the way they did.

Well, they didn't really need to worry about loyalty, since they knew it was the last season. You gotta shake things up, sometimes.

Oops. I miss Garcia. Actually, Junior wasn't one of the funnier characters either. I liked Jones, Raineesha, and Clemmie the best. Dangle was funny too. Wiegel was 50/50 funny/gross. But I love seeing one the former cast members doing other things on TV now, especially Niecy Nash in Getting On.

Season 6 was kinda weird. I was excited for the news guys because Ian Roberts and Joe LoTruglio are normally hilarious guys, but they didn't really get to do much on the show, especially Ian Roberts, he seemed kinda off his game on Reno compared to how funny he normally is. Joe at least got to be pretty funny as his Rizzo character, but he didn't really get much screentime.

I only watched the season premiere all the way through when it first aired. The show was pretty much dead to me right then and there.

As another poster said, you can't just shake up a show the way they did and expect good results.

I know Garrrant and Lennon had a lot of say (i.e., total control) on this show and they were loyal to their friends, like the 2 new guys in Season 6. Even Nick Swardson as Terry...he was funny in a few episodes, but because Tom and Ben thought he was a cominc genius, they foisted him on us way too many times. THEY thought the 2 new guys were funnier than Garcia and Clemmie, so THEY made the change. I don't think they cared what us viewers thought...and honestly, if I had the power to work with my friends and who cares about ratings, then I'd do the same thing.

I remember noticing when listening to the commentaries, that Lennon sounded kind of annoying when talking about how many takes Carlos would always ruin by laughing in every scene, I always wondered if that had something to do with them killing him off. I noticed in the last season Carlos/Garcia was in, they were barely using him at all.

Interesting. I don't remember that commentary, but I do believe you, and maybe that had something to do with it. I met Carlos at one of his comedy shows and I specifically asked him if he quit the show or something else. He kinda laughed and said "No, my bosses called me in one day and dismissed me." So I had to ask if he meant his bosses were Comedy Central executives or...and he interrupted me and says Ben and Tom. He was laughing and didn't seem to have hard feelings. But it was cool to hear it from him directly intstead of a million internet rumors.

I'm sure if he does have hard feelings, he's keeping them to himself. He did luck out though with the show, his profile was raised - he's gotten a lot more stand up gigs, and I'm sure if he as merchandise for sale, that's moving too.

It also doesn't hurt that the show crashed and burned the season after he got fired.

He got called in and was told? Wow. That's better than what Wendi McClendon-Covey got - she got a phone call when she was on the set of The Office and never actually saw anyone in person.

Joe Lo Truglio is simply funny. He even stood out in "The State"....his impressions and characters were almost perfect. He deserves WAY more screen time than he gets...TV AND Film

The two new characters never worked.

Ian Roberts character was too serious and angry and then he was a sergeant? and Joe Trulio's character was like a NYC cop cliche.
