anyone catch the bush reference?

i'm just wondering if anyone caught the parody of bush when alec baldwin is golfing and says "now watch this drive"

reply

LOL I did.

reply

Actually Alec isn't golfing, he's hunting. Bush was playing golf. So when Bush said "Now watch this drive", Baldwin said "Now watch this shot".

reply

I noticed this, but didn't know whether it was just coincidence!

reply

Alec Baldwin hunts in this movie? hes a veg! wtf

reply

I get it, tongue in cheek... or were you serious?

reply

I caught it. I nearly cried laughing at it.

reply

Don't pat yourself on the back too hard, the reference is pretty obvious.

reply

Well it’s not just the line is it? Baldwin’s character is on a luxurious holiday while people he should have been looking out for were struggling to cope. Just as Bush spent the first year of his presidency on holiday and barely paying attention to his duties to the country. It’s a parody of a man’s complete lack of personal responsibility towards others.

Why do people frequently get told to "read the book" on a movie database?

I never really made the connection until now. Shut up and stop being an a hole

reply

I did, and i just laugh badly...

It's just another example of left-wing bias in the media that is supposedly non-existent.

And did anyone notice all of the "Gore-Lieberman" campaign signs?

reply

Maybe if you could understand the difference between the concepts of "media" and "movie" you would better understand the "left-wing bias," instead of reciting the formulaic Republican talking points. Just a thought. How many thousands of jokes have been made about Clinton? "Left-wingers" don't go crying about the big bad right-wing bias every time somebody makes a Clinton joke. For the record, I didn't notice the Gore-Lieberman campaign signs. Sometimes it feels like some of you people look for things to be upset about. By the way, I am absolutely NOT a Democrat, so don't complain about how I have a "left-wing" bias.

reply

Right because CNN produced this movie and played it on their network {insert any number greater than zero} time(s). My eyes could not be rolling any harder right now.

BTW making fun of Bush is not a criticism of the right or conservatives. Any self respecting Republican should be embarassed by Bush and his administration. You however would prefer to live in a fairy tale land where all the blunders of this administration never happened and he's the best president there ever was and ever will be. Of course you probably love the coorporate cronyism that's the MO of these scumbags so I don't know why I bother.

reply

i don't get it.
