Released on DVD a year later?

Does anyone know why this movie isn't going to be released on dvd until November of this year? It came out last year.

I just realized that..... and its to sell good at Christmas time since its a Christmas movie. I believe they did this with "The Santa Claus" movies as well...

They always do with X-Mas movies. I guess they think people won't rent them until they get in the holiday spirit or something.

They do it with all of them:

Elf
Fred Claus
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
A Christmas Tale
etc...

well, that makes perfect sense. i guess i never noticed with any other movie. thanks for clearing things up.

Yep, they do that with alot of holiday films. Like last year with Fred Claus, for example.

I know who you are. I love you. I love everything about you that hurts.

I think they will do the same thing to Disney's A Christmas Carol. Don't expect that movie to come out until November or December 2010.

No, usually bad movies come out on DVD very fast.

It's true! They usually hold on to Christmas movies until aroud November before releasing them because they'll sell better and it's closer to the Christmas season. The first time I noticed this was with Elf, because I wanted to buy it right out of the theater and my mom informed me because it was a Christmas movie it wouldn't be out for a year. So keep that in mind when you see a good Christmas movie such as "Four Christmases" that it'll be a while before you can buy it!

I remember wanting to get The Polar Express but it was released on DVD during Christmas time a year later as well. THAT is an excellent Christmas movie and it's my favorite. Got it on Blue-Ray this year:)
