Did i misunderstand? They were leaving for Figi on Christmas Eve, right? They had to then visit all the families in the one day so they could make their flight on Christmas day.
I must have this wrong...cause i found it pretty improbable that they could travel all over to each place, not to mention perform in a play, all in one day.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
No it did all take place in one day. They were at the airport, and then it must have been an early flight. Then right after finding out that their flight was cancelled, they were on tv and immediately had to go to the first house at 2PM.
That shouldn't have taken long, since they quickly did all that in the span of like an hour, then went straight to the mom's place.
Mary Steenburgen's character's place would have been longer, since they did some stuff and then went to church.
Right after, there would be the short game. By then, it was getting dark when they fought in the car.
When did it say they went to the first house at 2 pm? Just curious - I must have missed that.
I assumed their flight was very early, and they went to the first house around 9 am or so.
The thing the movie fails to address is the problem tons of couples have always had... timing with all of the events. Family A may want to do a Christmas breakfast, but family B and C may both want a dinner, and obviously you can't been in two places at once. I've been fighting this battle for years... lol.
My impression was that it all took place on one day, Dec. 25. But with all that happened during the day, that was as plausible as the events on "24" taking place in one day!
But in any case, the movie was terrible. Only redeeming feature was a few good lines from Vince Vaughan, still trying to reclaim the glory of his role in "Swingers".
