If it happened at the end of the movie, he would've just shot him. But what if it happened earlier?

Bickle would have probably tried to directly take Vincent down and would have almost certainly been killed by the trained, experienced career assassin. It would've been a small variation on the thug that tries to mug him after stealing his briefcase off of Max.

Bickle was a Marine. It might not have been so easy for Vincent.

Yeah, maybe not. Vincent gives me the impression that he's pretty top-level, though. Bickle's unhinged, too.

I'd be more likely to give Bickle the edge in a brawl. He's nuts, so between his combat training and experiences and his unpredictable, intense frenzy, he'd stand a shot at fisticuffs. Guns, though? I think Vince has got him.

I think Vincent would take one look at Travis Bickle and know Bickle was a whackado wild-card. Vincent would be on his guard from second one.
