A Pre-teen's dream

Not once did this movie make any actually sense. In fact, with all the flaws and the surreal, silly and over-the-top plot, the movie feels more like a dream brought on by a 8-14 year old girl.

Maybe if the movie made it seem that everything that happened was a dream, maybe it could have worked. Instead, it is strictly a fantasy.

Actually, no wonder lots of tweenies say this is their favorite movie.

It comtains all their darkest fantasies.

LOL, i'm 14 yr old myself and trust me, we have a lot more substance and intelligence that the people that thought up this movie thinks we do.

god it just a bit of fun~!
why is everyone taking it so seriously

reply

Because the movie takes itself seriously...with the girl wanting her friend to stay, wanting a boyfriend, wanting to be popular, wanting a lock for her door. Every character goes through some emotional crisis in this movie; Ergo, the people who made this movie want you to take it seriously, but it never makes sense.

-How does a girl learn to drive at 14?
-Why doesn't the popular guy question that the girl he likes stalked him and watched him undress? Plus, how does he know where she lives and why does he hide out in her treehouse? Does he want to show he is a voyeur as well?
-Why the teacher in the club can not recognize a student he knew for years behind a paisley scarf?

and a hundred other points.

This is one of the best examples of a teen movie that once again underestimates teens themselves. My friends and I totally have more substance than these girls...I mean honestly? Running amok around the city in a recyclable car..for a lunch spot. Yeah, adult filmmakers really know what us teens wanna do. But to answer one of your questions, where I live you can get your learner's license at 14 and drive with an adult who has a license.

thats the hole point jr000083667

What is? That it is okay to bend reality to please the simple audience it was meant for? That they want plot HOLEs galore?
That it is okay to send the wrong messages to all young girls who watch it?

If you add up all the crimes committed by these girls alone, they could earn a life sentence (vandalism, sneaking into clubs, driving, stalking, voyeurism, drinking underage, stealing, etc.).

Yet all she gets is a reward (her own door lock).

No, It REALLY isn't.

Actually I think JRLilyNeil has redeemed the movie. Obviously when Julie broke through the arbor, she hit her head and lapsed into a coma, and the rest of the movie is her dream as she lies in her hospital bed.

Thank you! Someone gets it! ;)

Give yourself a star!
