Maybe Most Self Indulgent Movie Ever Made?

Cameron Crowe needed someone to tell him "no". I can't believe he thinks these people are endearing. No actors could have saved this disaster. Even Sandra Bullock couldn't make me like Claire. I'm dumbfounded over how deep this movie thinks it is when it's really one of the shallowest.

Yeah u pretty much hit the nail on the head. This movie is so cutesy so pandering its kind of hard to stand. I guess someone bet Cameron Crowe that he couldn't make a movie with no actual conflict. And he made this movie to prove em wrong. There is no other explanation

I know right? Elizabethtown seems like a movie that exudes a palpable sense of knowing its own inflated self-worth, as if it's saying 'I am simply amazing, and I'm SURE you'll agree'. A movie with its own built-in ego is never attractive. Crowe's "Singles" had a mild touch of that too I suppose, but at least it seemed to touch on actual Gen-X issues, however unevenly. Elizabethtown means well, but it just tries too hard.

Sorry, I rather liked it. Certainly better than another Hugh Grant RomCom
