Little symbols in the corner?

I was wondering if the little symbols that pop up in the corner of the screen (a flying V guitar, a mountain, and others) had any special significance to the story. Anyone know?

That was if you do the interactive play thingy. If you press enter when one of those pop up, you get to see some extras.
