I think Nathan, Karen and the others would have definitely felt something (sadness), but Keith was a genuinely good guy, and meant so much to the show's protagonist (Lucas) and Karen. He was a friend to everyone. Deb, err, not so much, lol. Especially if we're talking s3, s4.

Deb would've died a meaningless death if they knew what happen, they didn't know because nobody loved Dan enough to tell him she tried to kill him.
How would they all feel if someone said let her die she should've died?
Would anyone ask her to die so Keith could live?
