Julian

Did anyone else feel like the Julian in S6 is very different than the Julian in the rest of the series? In S6 he has a bit of the bad boy demeanor but turns out to be very passionate and sweet, is very confident and has lots of "swag", if you will. After this he is portrayed as a totally nerdy misfit. I get that he's not into sports like a lot of the other guys, but they practically make him the laughingstock of the cast! I always like Julian but I was disappointed with what they did with his character bc when he came on in S6 I absolutely LOVED him.

I dont know I kind of saw him as dorky in S6 too. Maybe not as much as the other 3, but still he seemed like a misfit.

I noticed the same thing. But then I thought that maybe he was just putting on a facade because he wanted people to think he was cool. Then he just started being himself as he got more comfortable around Brooke and the others.

There was a moment I thought they were going to have him come out as gay!
I don't really like him and Brooke together. Feels like she was just so desperate for a baby and a man she took whatever came around.

I think him suffered a little bit as character because they changed the purpose. He was definitely originally to meant to cause trouble between Leyton and the whole thing with him and Brooke was definitely added in later on.

I think it was because we first met Julian through the eyes of the other characters and did not really get to know him. In most of season 6 he still is the same person he is through the rest of the series after. He was always nerdy about movies and stuff like that. He was also just portrayed as a "bad boy" because people thought he came to break up Lucas and Peyton. Most of what we saw from Julian was through the views of others who thought he was up to no good. The turning point was when he saved Sam. From then, you got to see who Julian is... Not the person people made him out to be.

It is like his whole sleeping with models during Sundance after him and Peyton broke up. Leaked story by his dad when he didn't actually go.

reply

Yeah agreed. I don't think he could broke up LP though considering how stable they are together and how they don't let outside factors dicate their relationship like all of their other relationships.

Yeah but I mean more than just his jerky/bad boy persona he was giving off when he first came to Tree Hill. I think we found out pretty quickly he was a good guy. I mean more of him just being really nerdy and a misfit. Like I said, he was practically the laughingstock of the show sometimes, like when he was trying to find a best man and all the guys just ended up mad at him. It was just another time they pointed out he didn't really have any true friends there. I just thought it was kinda sad and I preferred the strong, confident Julian from S6.

reply

Yeah agreed plus when he first arrived he wasn't over how him and Peyton ended and he was kinda trying to show that he was over it when he wasn't. Falling in love with Brooke definitely soften up him but the writers took that too far IMO.
