Liev makes this movie.

Didn't enjoy it the first time I watched it (making comparisons to the original) but I've really grown to like it a lot, especially the scenes involving Liev.

Short Cut, Draw Blood

I agree. Liev is captivating in his scenes with Denzel. The sadness in his expressions in the scene with Denzel in the classroom & when he was on stage right before he was shot as he was almost pleading with Denzel to shoot him -- both those scenes made me want to rewind & watch again.

He's a good crier. He has tears on his eyes, and is capable of pulling back those tears & smiling at the same time. I see ppl in my life do that all the time, so it's refreshing how he does it on film. It's a talent.

Agreed! He made a good job in this one!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

He made a ho-hum average not so thrilling thriller that fails to touch the genius of the original. It wasn't bad but there certainly wasn't anything daring or original about it.

He was great in it. Much better than Laurence Harvey.

Wait here. I get dressed, I kill them, I come back.

reply

Yes, he did great. I've enjoyed him in every film he took part, so far.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

reply

Agreed. He played his part perfectly. I really felt sorry for him in this movie.

It's interesting to me, after seeing Liev in both "Salt" and "The Manchurian Candidate" if he's not the product of MK Ultra. It's beyond the realm of coincidence, frankly...
