The reason the ship went boom
at the end you see the final msg from the captain...he says that he must stop the ship from reaching earth. The selfdestruct was set but when the ship lost power it didnt go off. When the second crew arrived and restored power the system restarted the selfdestruct system. other then that the movie was horrible.
