Year 3000? Hard to believe... :)

The one thing that really screamed out was the props and some of the lines in the movie. If this is the year 3000, what's with the oxygen mask when Mina enters the ship? I'd like to see something a little more space-agey. What about the wheelchair? There better be hoverchairs in the year 3000! Or at least a cure for all that stuff. Calling someone Hummer or HumVee I guess means the Hummer is still around? Especially when someone doesn't even know what "God" means. I'm sure it came up in history classes :)

And Dracula still has a cape? It's like he came right out of the 1940s/1950s movies!
The name "van hesling" for the captain was a little much.
It was a neat bit about the carpathian sector of space.

The space shots and computer graphics stuff seemed fine for the space shots of the ships.

And no for a little rant about ratings.
I agree with various postings about this maybe being a 2-4. I have low standards but there were parts of this movie that were definitely above 1. Sure it was "bad" but I don't agree with people saying movie xxxxxxx is the worst movie ever made. And xxxxxx is rated like 1 out of a 100 or whatever.

Especially when these movies are actual theatrical releases. There are different scales. A theatrical release rated say 3 has got to be much better than say a "bad" movie rated 3.

Anyways, I guess what I'm saying is I don't like all these rankings and saying how xxxx was the worst movie ever made and such. Someone's always going to have a worse movie. Especially when someone says some theatrical release movie is the worst movie ever. Give me a break!

The worst movie I've ever seen was "Hollywood's New Blood". The worst recent theatrical movie I've seen was "Mystic River". I wouldn't dare rank a bad theatrical release with a "bad" direct to video type movie. The theatrical release always must win out. I see different scalres being used to really be helpful.

Update:
One thing to add about the ending - the explosion seemed a wee bit of a cop out. I'm assuming they were doomed anyways if neither could apparently pilot the ship. But it does allow for a rememberable ending :)

Probably when someone says "it's the worst movie ever made" it refers to "ever seen" by himself. :)
