What was with the ending?
They set the course for the twin Suns. So what happens?

1)Did they crash into the Sun(s)? I don't think that was their original idea.

2)Or it was humvee who set the course to crash into the Sun(s) when he saw that's the only way to kill Orlock?

3)Or was the professor the only one who knew how to fly the DEMETER so without him they didn't know how to land it so they crashed?

$)And the scene with Udo Kier right before the end - did the self destruct sequence he triggered 50 years ago and failed, suddenly began to work and destroyed the DEMETER?

I liked the movie, except that damn ending. So if someone has an idea...

The writers were probably so stoned they passed out and weren't able to finish the (already surrealistically bad) script before the deadline. So that's why the movie just.... stops. :D

only reason I'm reading this is because I blinked and the stupid movie was over so thought I'd see what happened.

The old captain of the ship set it to self destruct, that was what happened at the end...still crap though

It took me a second, but I think what happened had to do with the guy in the wheelchair saying that if he sped up the ship, the reactor would leak and they'd die. My guess is that Humvee sped the ship up and, of course, he's incapable of flying, so between those two things, he (maybe semi-intentionally) blew up the ship.

Then again, what the hell's with the captain's video at the end. It seems to fly in the face of the beginning caption.

That being said, this entire movie flies in the face of good film making.

The movie was so bad that i fell asleep two times while trying to watch it.. the only way i got to actually see it to the end is by watching the movie in the morning right after wakeing up. I believe it's a really AWESOME film just because it's so bad. :D

No, no, now I know what happened. Humvee was having sex with the android, and he came so hard the ship exploded. I shoulda seen that earlier.

i think they spent the $5 budget... i mean... look at it!
IT SUCKS and the ending would be the same if i just stopped watching it after 2 minutes, accept, i would not be angry for waisting my time...
what ever... the ending is the wors any movie could have!

You see, the script was originally meant to go for another three hours but before they had finished filming, the production company sent someone to check on how things were going. When he saw that the movie was a complete catastrophy they decided to pull the funding - thus ending the movie.
