NEW VACATION Movie Is Rusty Griswold's Vacation

It looks like the rumors are true and a new "Vacation" will be made. Variety is reporting that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Dale have been hired to write the new movie based on Rusty’s road trip vacation. None of this is taking place under the National Lampoon credits so you already know it has strikes against it.
In this new movie, Wally World is closing forever, and Rusty wants to bring his family to the park before it is gone for good. New Line/WB hopes to sign Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo to return as grandparents in the new film, no deals are in place.
Hmm, it's not under the National Lampoon banner? Bummer.
Oh, well. Now, the question is, who to play Rusty? Do we bring in someone new, or do we bring back one of the actors that already played the part?
