Several really creepy moments in this movie ...

The sons in this show seem really young to me, but there are two scenes that are creeping me out. I just started watching this again and it's was almost like sexual abuse to make this movie, or pedophilia ... just taken for granted.

1. The younger son masturbating in the school library and wiping his ejaculate on the books.
2. Both sons on hearing their mother had an affair are talking about, not their mother having intercourse with a man other than their father, but the younger son wonders if his mom sucks off the other guy, and then the older son talks about anal.

I gotta say, I am no prude, but that just seems over the top to get the idea across that the children might harbor resentment against their mother and blame her for the upcoming divorce.

Disgusting and unnecessary

Nasty scenes in a nasty movie. But I think that was the point.

This is fiction. The people portraying Walt and Frank are actors. The actor who played the younger son was 14 at the time, although he was probably cast because he looks younger. Do you actually think the actor really masturbated and spread his semen while making the film??? It doesn't even show him below the waist, and it wasn't real semen. The scene in which he spreads the semen could very well have been filmed at a different time. And do you think a 14-year-old boy has no knowledge of masturbation and semen. You make it sound like the director literally told him to masturbate and spread his semen.

Just because you seem to have a problem distinguishing movies from reality doesn't mean you can project it only others in order to avoid thinking. Why even bother to reply to my post with such nonsense?

It's you who is confusing movies from reality. You call it "sexual abuse" because a child character masturbated (out of camera view) and spread the semen (and since you may not know this, it's not real semen) as if the actor is being forced to masturbate. The actor knows he doesn't have to masturbate. And if he's like virtually all 14-year-olds, he knows what masturbation and semen are, so he's not being sexualized by playing the role of a character who masturbates. With your reasoning, an adult female actor who is portraying a rape scene is being abused like a rape victim. It's acting. In both cases, the actors know that the events are not real and that they are acting. No "sexual abuse", to quote you.

No, and it's also you behaving like a 3-yr-old, I know you are but what am I.

I can only imagine you were a child and whacking off all over your parents house and need that to be seen as normal of your frail identity might collapse.

Other than that you've not making any sense.

THAT DESCRIBES EVERYONE.

Brux: Wow, what a mature response.

Blame yourself, I aimed it at your intellectual and moral level.

reply

LMAO! Keep digging that hole deeper. You know, you're better off not responding and hope that you don't look even more like an idiot instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

reply

If I look like an idiot to you, that's merely proof that I am not.

reply

Astounding logic! I have some beach front property in Kansas that I'd like to sell you really cheap.

reply

That's just the sand in your head.

reply

Keep digging.
